mdx / mdx II

“mdx” aims to serve as a hub that catalyzes cross-disciplinary and cross-sector collaboration by forming a data utilization community. It features high-performance computing and large-capacity storage systems, and through collaboration with SINET operated by the National Institute of Informatics, it provides data collection, aggregation, and processing capabilities for various data utilization initiatives involving universities and public research institutions nationwide, including joint research with companies and local governments.

“mdx II” is a system built on OpenStack, consisting of compute nodes and storage clusters. Resources are provided through virtual machines, establishing independent environments for each project. In addition to supercomputer-like applications such as large-scale data processing and high-performance computing, it can be used for a wider range of flexible purposes including hosting data repositories and data platforms.

mdx is operated by the Platform for Creating a Data-Driven Society Collaborative Organization and provides services to educational/research institutions and private companies. The D3 Center is a member institution of the Platform for Creating a Data-Driven Society Collaborative Organization.
