ICHO Email Forwarding Service After Retirement
Overview
After retirement from the university, your ICHO email account will no longer be accessible. If you wish to have your emails forwarded for a period after retirement, please apply following the instructions on this page.
Please note that administrative staff members cannot forward emails to external addresses. Please specify internal email addresses such as your successor’s email or department email addresses as forwarding destinations.
Forwarding Period
Emails will be automatically forwarded to your specified email address for 365 days starting from the day after your retirement.
Example: If you retire on December 31, 2022 → Forwarding period: January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023 (365 days)
*The forwarding period cannot be extended.
Important Notes
- The university cannot be responsible for email reception status at forwarding destinations.
- If you continue to use ICHO under a different status (e.g., visiting faculty) after retirement, email forwarding service will not be available.

Please ensure your mailbox size is less than 50GB before retirement. Automatic forwarding may not work if the mailbox size exceeds 50GB.
You can check your mailbox usage here. - If you are re-employed by the university before the forwarding period ends, the automatic forwarding will terminate at the time of re-employment.
How to Apply
Please submit your application through the form below between one month and three days before your planned retirement date (if the final day falls on a holiday, please apply by the previous business day).
Applications submitted after this period may result in a delay of several days before forwarding begins, so please apply within the designated period.
Applying After Retirement
If applying after retirement, please submit your application through the form below within 25 days from the day after your retirement date.

Please note that it may take several days to set up forwarding due to identity verification processes.
*For administrative staff, applications can be submitted by other staff members or supervisors on behalf of the retiree with their consent.
