OUDX Initiatives
OU Human Capital Data Platform: A Platform that “Accompanies Each Student’s Life Journey”
The OU Human Capital Data Platform is a system that integrates departmentally segregated data update mechanisms across departments, aiming to develop human capital master data that can be utilized for DX throughout the university.
This platform aims to aggregate, share, connect, and co-create the knowledge, experience, roles, and networks (human capital) of people belonging to the broader University of Osaka community. In particular, it provides lifelong support to students by maintaining their connection with the university from pre-enrollment through post-graduation.
OUID (Osaka University IDentity): A Unique Lifelong ID for the University of Osaka Community
At the core of OUDX is OUID, the integrated ID infrastructure for all members associated with the University of Osaka. OUID is a unique lifelong ID provided to all members of the University of Osaka community, and through this ID, we aim to realize the “OUID Vision” of providing high-value services both inside and outside the university to all stakeholders, including alumni (see figure below).
OUID Facial Recognition Entry System
As one of the applications utilizing OUID, we have been operating an entry management system using facial recognition technology at indoor and outdoor locations across university campuses since June 2024.
Digital ID (Student and Faculty/Staff ID)
The official smartphone application “MyHandai App” will feature a new digital student and staff ID function linked with OUID (scheduled to launch on January 29, 2025).
This service is available to all university students and staff, improving convenience for University of Osaka members, enhancing operational efficiency, and reducing management costs. This digital ID implementation represents the largest-scale deployment among national university corporations (approximately 30,300 students and staff combined).
